Most likely to say “anyone wanna buy me a drink” Least likely to say “I think it’s my round!” Matt has the moves, Matt has the patter, his performances are always instinctive, when he doesn’t know what to do? He improvises and the band he leads are smart enough to follow him.

Basically he has everything you need in a front man and it’s important when you’re trying to fill some of the biggest set of boots in rock music.

Matt brings the cockiness and swagger to the band, indeed he may be no gynecologist, but he’ll have a good look at it for you anyway and likewise if you want to fight, he and the gang may just kick your head in!!

A Lynott ringer, the hair, the hooded eyes and the tight trousers, he also shares Phil’s love of soul and black music, the kind of stuff that inspired Philip Lynott to give up his dream career as an apprentice fitter and turners job and found Thin Lizzy in the 1st place.

But don’t be fooled, look a like or not this man is a talent in his own rights.

It’s tough being up front, it’s tough trying to sing and play bass, it’s tough trying to be projecting to the crowd and being in the engine room of the band’s sound all at once.

But Matt carries it off effortlessly and with no small amount of charm!
